January brings two very different sides of Vietnam, making it an interesting month for tourists who want to choose their experience by region. Northern Vietnam is in the middle of winter, with Hanoi seeing cool, sometimes misty days, while mountainous destinations such as Sapa and Ha Giang can become much colder. Meanwhile, Southern Vietnam enjoys its dry season, bringing warm temperatures, plenty of sunshine, and lower rainfall, while Central Vietnam gradually moves toward drier conditions.
For a tropical escape, Phu Quoc is one of the best places to visit in Vietnam in January, with sunny weather ideal for beaches, snorkeling, and island hopping. Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta are also excellent choices for exploring southern culture and outdoor attractions without the heavy rains of the wet season. In the north, tourists looking for a more seasonal experience can head to Moc Chau, where white plum blossoms begin covering the hills and valleys, or spend a few cool winter days exploring the streets, cafés, and local food of Hanoi.

Recommended destinations: Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta, Moc Chau, Hanoi.
February welcomes the arrival of spring in Vietnam, bringing milder temperatures, blooming flowers, and a lively festive atmosphere. Northern Vietnam remains cool and can be misty or drizzly, but spring blossoms begin adding color to mountainous areas and countryside landscapes. Central Vietnam gradually becomes warmer and drier, while Southern Vietnam continues to enjoy its dry season with warm sunshine and relatively little rain. February may also coincide with Tet, the Vietnamese Lunar New Year, depending on the lunar calendar, giving tourists a chance to experience colorful decorations, traditional customs, and festive celebrations across the country.
For pleasant weather and outdoor exploration, Da Lat is particularly attractive with its cool climate and colorful flowers, while Phu Quoc remains an excellent choice for sunny beaches and island activities. Hoi An is another rewarding destination as Central Vietnam moves toward more comfortable weather. In the north, Hanoi and Ninh Binh offer a quieter spring atmosphere, with temples, pagodas, and cultural sites becoming especially lively around the Lunar New Year period.
Recommended destinations: Da Lat, Phu Quoc, Hoi An, Hanoi, Ninh Binh.

March is often considered one of the best times to visit Vietnam, as pleasant weather can be found across much of the country. Northern Vietnam begins to warm up after winter, with comfortable temperatures for exploring cities, countryside, and natural landscapes. Central Vietnam enters a sunnier and drier period, while Southern Vietnam remains in the dry season, although temperatures gradually become hotter toward the end of the month.
With such favorable conditions, March gives tourists plenty of choices. Ninh Binh and Ha Long Bay are ideal for enjoying northern landscapes before the summer heat arrives, while Hoi An, Da Nang, and Hue offer a great combination of beaches, heritage, and outdoor sightseeing in Central Vietnam. Those heading south can also explore Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, where dry weather makes city walks, boat trips, and countryside excursions more comfortable.
Recommended destinations: Ninh Binh, Ha Long Bay, Hoi An, Da Nang, Hue, Ho Chi Minh City, Mekong Delta.

April is another excellent month to explore Vietnam, with warm temperatures and plenty of sunshine across much of the country. Northern Vietnam becomes noticeably warmer and generally pleasant for outdoor sightseeing, while Central Vietnam enjoys sunny days and relatively low rainfall, creating ideal conditions for both cultural exploration and beach time. In Southern Vietnam, the weather remains hot and mostly dry, although occasional showers may begin to appear as the region approaches its rainy season.
This is a great month for combining several regions in one trip. Ha Long Bay and Ninh Binh offer beautiful scenery under warmer spring skies, while Sapa is comfortable for trekking before the wetter summer months arrive. In Central Vietnam, tourists can explore the imperial heritage of Hue, wander through the lantern-lit streets of Hoi An, or enjoy the beaches of Da Nang. With favorable weather from north to south, April is especially suitable for tourists planning a longer journey across Vietnam.
Recommended destinations: Ha Long Bay, Ninh Binh, Sapa, Hue, Hoi An, Da Nang.

May marks the beginning of summer in Vietnam, bringing warmer temperatures, longer sunny days, and increasingly tropical weather. Northern Vietnam becomes hot and more humid, with occasional showers signaling the approach of the rainy season, while Central Vietnam enjoys plenty of sunshine and generally favorable conditions for beach holidays. In Southern Vietnam, the rainy season begins to arrive, but showers are often short and intense rather than lasting all day, leaving plenty of time for sightseeing.
For tourists looking for sun and sea, Da Nang and Hoi An are excellent choices in May, combining beautiful beaches with cultural attractions and vibrant local food. Further south along the central coast, Nha Trang is also ideal for swimming, snorkeling, and island trips, while Hue offers warm, relatively dry weather for exploring its imperial landmarks. Ha Long Bay can still be rewarding at this time of year, although tourists should prepare for higher humidity and occasional rain.
Recommended destinations: Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Hue, Ha Long Bay.

June brings full summer weather to Vietnam, with rising temperatures, strong sunshine, and more frequent tropical showers. Northern Vietnam is typically hot and humid, with rainfall becoming more common, while Southern Vietnam is well into its rainy season. Central Vietnam, however, often enjoys sunnier and relatively dry conditions, making the central coast one of the most attractive regions to visit during this month.
Beach lovers have plenty of options in June. Da Nang and Hoi An combine sunny coastal days with cultural experiences, while Nha Trang is perfect for swimming, snorkeling, and island hopping. Quy Nhon is another great choice for tourists looking for beautiful beaches and a more laid-back coastal atmosphere. Ha Long Bay can still offer spectacular summer scenery, but June also brings a higher chance of heavy rain and storms, so cruise schedules may occasionally change due to weather conditions.
Recommended destinations: Da Nang, Hoi An, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Ha Long Bay.

Mr. Ricardo - Program Manager said “Dear Kelvin, Thanks you very much for your well arrangement. Thank you for the updated weather information. I have traveled a lot as a geography professor and dealt with many tour operators. You are one of the best tour operators who can take so much concern and care about customers. I must congratulate you on your good organization and care to minute points. Thanks for the mobile phone you provided to us and SIM cards you provide to all of us (29 cards, I know they are not cheap), it was an excellent convenience for us. It was a brilliant idea and we really appreciated knowing there was someone we could contact at any time should we need to. We love your welcome dinner at Binh Quoi village, where we enjoyed rich traditional southern Vietnamese cuisine with musical accompaniment provided by local folk musicians. We were very interested in the traditional Vietnamese wedding in Binh Quoi and we never forget the “Gong show” in Buon Me Thuot. Once again, thank you very much for great job”.
