The extensive tunnels have been specially constructed with living areas, storage facilities, weapon factories, filed hospitals, command center, plus accommodation. Upon arrival to the Cu Chi tunnels, watch a short introductory video showing how they were constructed, then spend the next hour exploring the maze of tunnels, you will even have a chance to crawl through the tunnels. Also on display are various mantraps, the remains of an American tank and numerous bomb craters made by 500 pound bombs dropped by B52 bombers. For those interested there's even the opportunity to fire off rounds from an AK47 or MK16 at the nearby rifle range.

Amongst the grand old buildings, you will see colourful markets selling everything from chillies to French bread and, of course, an endless stream of bicycles, cyclos and motorbikes.

You will depart your hotel in Vietnam’s traditional form of transport – the cyclo – and by cycled at a leisurely pace to the Notre Dame Cathedral, a Neo-classical structure dating back to the 19th century, with the beautiful Post Office building opposite. Continue by cyclo to the Presidential Palace and their underground war rooms. Thereafter continue by coach to the Central Market (Ben Thanh Market) where you will wander the colourful stalls and stands of this central area of trade and commerce.

    Dinner at Nam Phan Restaurant.

This newest addition to the dining scene is elegantly decorated offering some of the most exquisite Vietnamese dishes in all of Saigon.  Khai, a local Vietnamese business entrepreneur who made his riches from designer silk clothes, has brought fine dining to traditional Vietnamese cuisine in the heart of the city.  His designer flare is obvious once you enter the interior with its eclectic mix of traditional and antique furnishing and Vietnamese art decorating the walls.
