Zfreeti Hotel

It’s a massive complex comprising a number of long accommodation blocks, a towering open-sided pavilion and a pool area surrounded by a large brick fence. Opened in December 2013, it’s one of the newest hotels in Bagan and still has that crisp, new feeling with sparkling tiled floors, bright white sheets, modern flat screen TVs and a clean blue pool that is a godsend when the temperatures soar into the 40s as they do on a daily basis in the hot season.

Rooms are equipped with air-conditioning that keeps rooms icy cold, something which is not always a given in other hotels with air-conditioning in Nyaung U due to their age.

Rooms come in three price ranges with the primary difference being size, although the most expensive rooms do a safety deposit box and tea- and coffee-making facilities whereas the cheapest don’t. All rooms catch great light and are a joy to relax in, especially when compared to the particularly funky budget backpacker options around town. Facilities include free in-room WiFi, flat screen TVs with 12 channels including a few in French and German, comfortable beds adorned with crisp white linen and colourful local fabrics, minibar fridge and spotlessly clean hot shower and toilet with complimentary toiletries.
